Vision

Andhra Pradesh will achieve self sufficiency to meet the domestic silk requirement and be the leading silk producing state in India. Sericulture growth leading to vibrant rural economy by creating employment and income generating opportunities enabling poverty reduction and arresting rural to urban migration of the rural poor.

Mission

The state will strive to achieve an annual production of 10,000 MTs of high quality silk by 2012 (by end of XI plan).
