Catalytic Development Programme (CDP/CSS) 

The Department of sericulture is implementing a Centrally Sponsored Scheme (CSS) known as "Catalytic Development Programme (CDP) with the assistance from Central Silk Board, realizing the production potential of sericulture in the state and need to meet the gap in demand and supply, It is important to highlight here that the CDP focused on enhancing the production of Bivoltine Silk (White silk). Therefore, implementation of CDP aimed at meeting this gap through technology development and absorption, quality up-gradation, investment generation, productivity improvement and employment generation, especially to women, SC/ ST and below poverty line farmers.

In order to achieve the above said goal, CDP targeted infrastructure, training and capacity building, better working environment for rearers and reelers, support for quality linked purchase of cocoons and yarn, up-gradation of reeling and processing technologies, enterprise promotion and data base development, support for extension, publicity etc.
